Seasonal duvets to consider:
1. Winter – TOG 14:
The optimum lightweight warmth ideal for those really struggling to generate sufficient body heat to stay warm during the colder months. With its full density, we make use of the tunnel construction to ensure that the down filling remains in place while allowing the down clusters to expand to its fullest loft potential.
2. Autumn – TOG 11:
Often referred to as the ‘all season’ duvet. We have designed these duvets bearing in mind that the down clusters need to expand to their fullest loft potential in order to provide maximum sleeping comfort through proper insulation. To ensure the filling stays in its designated compartment, our duvets are manufactured using the three dimensional box construction.
3. Autumn light – TOG 7.5:
The newest addition to our duvet collection ideal for the regions with a milder temperature, but still proves to be just a bit too chilly for use of the summer duvet. The design is copied from the regular autumn duvet but contains lesser down filling.
4. Summer – TOG 4:
The lightweight duvet for those balmy summer days. These duvets we have designed with stitched-through box construction to ensure that the down filling stays in place whilst being perfectly distributed and allowing maximum loft potential of the down clusters.
5. Combo – TOG 15:
Combining the autumn and summer duvets by attaching them together with buttons, you are prepared for all the South African weather has to offer throughout the year.
Factors dictating your choice of the perfect duvet:
1. Climate or temperature of your sleeping environment.
The climate of the area you reside in. Use of our winter duvets will be recommended for areas with a minimum temperature of below -3 degrees Celsius. Autumn duvets work best for regions with a minimum temperature varying between -3 and 7 degrees Celsius. Autumn light serves the coastal regions well. Bear in mind the effect of using an aircon or heater in your bedroom, or having a very cold room due to restricted exposure to sunlight during the day.
2. Individual body temperature
Ask yourself if you tend to get hot or cold quickly. Those really struggling to effectively generate enough body heat to stay warm, should look at the winter or autumn duvet.
3. Sleeping alone
Two individuals sleeping together generate more heat than a lone sleeper (bear in mind the size of the bed as individuals sleeping far apart due to a lot of space compromise on their heat generated). In the instance of a couple sleeping together, the choice needs to be determined by the one of the two that overheats quickly.
